Porto, June 2014. A photographer Steven McCulloh commented on this: "The environment is very regular - all verticals and horizontals. The curves of the spray-paint are in opposition to this. The way that the man is placed so that the wavy line seems to be coming out of his head makes me think that the paint represents free-thought and individuality in a regulated world". What do you think? The photo was part of the exhibition "Simplicity" in July 2016 in Warsaw and a series of my black and white street photographs. You can learn more about it following the link to my album's page on flickr. The owner of the item will unlock the link to download a tiff file used to print this image for the exhibition.

"Simplicity" exhibition collection collection image

Photos chosen for the exhibition "Simplicity" 1-18 July 2016 in Warsaw, in Służewski Dom Kultury (SDK).The idea “simplicty” came to my mind when I was thinking about urban life and my street photography. I wonder on the contrast I see when observing city life – between something accidental, free, intuitive, spontaneous and the need of simplicity, order, peace and convenience. Photos were made in different European cities - Warsaw, London, Lisbon, Rome, Porto. But the context of a place is not relevant for me, instead important is their simple, black and white composition and the subject – city and people. To read more visit the website with the album.
