Fedor Konyukhov made the sketch during one of his extreme voyages and finished the painting in the workshop. “Traveling is unlikely to cure a person of despondency. Hanging around the world is not traveling. For a traveler, every step has to be meaningful. A person can escape from himself and his problems neither to mountains nor to ocean. A person will face himself sooner or later, because the main journey of his life is the life itself. As a child, I was also afraid of loneliness, it was a burden for me. Now, over the years (and I've been thousands of days in the ocean) I understand that there is no loneliness on the globe. There's always someone. There is an ocean, it is alive, it is filled with fish, animals and plants. There is an air, also alive. There are birds, dolphins, whales." - Fedor Konyukhov says. Птица. Эскиз Конюхов сделал в одном из своих экстремальных путешествий, дорабатывал в мастерской. “Путешествиями человека вряд ли вылечишь от уныния. Болтаться по миру — это не есть путешествия. У путешественника каждый шаг должен быть осмысленным. Невозможно убежать от себя и своих проблем в горы или океан. Человек рано или поздно вернется к себе, ведь главное путешествие его жизни — это сама жизнь. В детстве я тоже одиночества боялся, оно мне в тягость было. Сейчас же, с годами (а я пробыл тысячи дней в океане) я понимаю, что на земном шаре нет одиночества. Всегда есть кто-то. Есть океан, он живой, он наполнен рыбами, животными и растениями. Есть воздух, он тоже живой. Есть птицы, дельфины, киты.” - говорит Фёдор Конюхов.
