This work belongs to an prolific and ongoing series that comprises intervened monoprints. They are very much work from the pandemia.
Renata started to make them during the first lockdown, as she struggled -like many artists- with homeschooling of two young children, household chores, losing income through lockdown restrictions that made impossible for her to teach... on top of her trying to carry on working on her art...
The sessions in the studio became immediately less frequent, and only possible during the evenings.
Renata switched her oils and her usually slow and intricate paintings, from the immediacy of gel plates monoprints or monotypes. Using acrylic paint, stencils, texturing combs (for cakes icing) on gel plates. This is a fast, strange, hit and miss technique where Renata can built a sizeable bulk of prep work. These works were intervened with stencils and spray paint.
Renata got a sizeable amount of works she re-work back at her home on her kitchen table. During this last stage of transformation Renata incorporated the acrylic ink, coloured pencils.
Most of this series of works would be promoted using the #NFTSupportPledge on twitter, a peer to Peer Support movement pledging to offer work at a cap price of 0.1 ETH. Once the artist reaches 1ETH, the artist pledges to buy another work promoted using the #

Renata is a multidisciplinary Latin art based in London. She is currently exploring the genre of Landscape in a de-constructive way. Painting is her starting point for other works, including installations, sculptures, large formats and intimate pieces.
