How did the creators of cave art view their own art? We can't know for sure, but we can imagine them gathered around a fire to keep warm, telling stories, and watching the images flicker across the walls of the caves. Here they could relive the hunt of the day. Here mankind discovered and created another world, the world of myth. Even if the stories of these peoples are long forgotten, something of them survives, not only in their artworks, but in ours.
