Mollie Serena’s installation project, CD Locus, is comprised of a collection of found objects, in the DADA readymade tradition, but remixed for climate change awareness. The objects are found on the street, exchanged or donated, such as mannequins parts, tables, vases, bottles, and lanterns which are then covered in CDs and coated with multiple layers of resin. When the sculptures are activated in the sun, the unseen light from the electromagnetic spectrum exposes rainbow light refractions on the surrounding walls and space as seen in the NFT. Her interest in sculpture and objects is derived from Object-Oriented Ontology, Metaphysics, and physics where the role of objects has been heavily debated from Harman to Heidegger.
