The death of Mr. de Savornin Lohman has been reported in the newspaper ‘Javabode’, he was formerly Advocate General at the Supreme Court in the Netherlands and was appointed governor of Suriname on the recommendation of the Minister of Colonial Affairs Keuchenius.
After returning to the Netherlands, he was asked to inspect cultural enterprises in the Dutch East Indies: he complied and spent considerable time here with his daughter, Frau Anna de Savornin Lohman, the well-known author of 'Het Ene Nodige'. The deceased was a brother of the MP, the well-known minister of the cabinet Mackey.
