No Time Like Home is generative art that mixes visuals, mood and text into a 3-second video loop. The three elements are intertwined in ways that make the end result look random — but it's not.

Technically-speaking, this is a CSS/Typescript-powered program that takes a source image, a mood board of colour inputs, and a poem as a basis for the render. The number of slices, their size, the way they move and even the angle are all determined by a sha512 hash of the poem. Even a single space added to the end of the poem changes the output dramatically. The poem itself is about the ever-shifting ideal of "home" and "fond memories", and how we are constantly reaching back for something that never quite existed. The text of the poem will only ever be rendered like this, so no one will ever actually read it in its raw form.
