Pictured are dead Africanized Honey Bees huddled together with hopes of staying warm to survive. These bees died due to cold weather which prevented them from eating. Bees are Highly Social insects and they like and need to be around each in order to survive, much different than humans in the year 2020. Underneath them is honey comb and it is filled with uncapped honey or what we know as nectar with some enzymes from the bees honey stomach. If weather conditions were ideal the bees would have dehydrated that nectar and enzyme mixture, until the moisture level falls below 18%. Once the moisture content is below 18% it is considered honey and the bees would close of the individual cell with a wax capping. At this point the honey is eternal and will last forever!

These bees had a choice, either huddle together to stay warm and starve to death or eat the nectar and enzyme mixture and run the risk of freezing to death by themselves. They are stronger together as a collective than separated as individuals. The bees choose to be Highly Social until the End
