Blending Into Harmony, to me, represents a hope that I hold onto. The hope that tomorrow will be a better day, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, that there is a reason to keep going. Tomorrow, for me, has always been more of an idea than anything else, an idea that represents the infinite multitudes of possibility. Blending our days of history into the harmonious book of life.
Recalled Red is a series of works shot on 120mm rolls of Cinestill 800T film. The rolls were recalled due to the chemical imbalance that gives these images their warm overcast. This series is very personal to me. The red, orange, and yellow tones of the works, instead of representing their usual feelings of warmth and friendliness, explore the colder sentiments of isolation, the nostalgia of so-dreamt “better days”, and ambivalence towards life in the present and future that I’ve often struggled with. I hope that viewing this series presents you with a moment of respite and eases the passing of time for you as shooting it did for me.
