Antimony as Nubia Nubia is a fictional character, a comic book super-heroine published by DC Comics. The original Nubia was created by Robert Kanigher and Don Heck, and debuted in Wonder Woman #204. The idea for this work came one evening as the model and I were sitting around a back yard fire where she told me that when she was a girl she fantasized about being the heroine Nubia. As the evening unfolded the idea for this painting evolved. As I worked on the canvas rendering her likeness I understood that I was not just painting a fictional character but the energy of Antimony herself.
