Mixed media collage made from my 3008x2000 px photo.
The poppy is a common symbol that has been used to represent everything from peace to death and even simply sleeps. When used on tombstones, poppies represent eternal sleep. It can also be used as a symbol of imagination, messages delivered in dreams, beauty, success, luxury, extravagance, and even peace in death.
Red poppies are usually linked to consolation, remembrance, and death. The red poppy is used as a way to recognize fallen soldiers – most notably those who died in World War II. However, in Eastern cultures, poppies usually symbolize love and success instead, a stark contrast to their solemn Western symbolism.
İpek is my name. It means “Silk” in my mother language. I was born and raised in İstanbul but now I’m living in Eskişehir where I studied at my university.
I always loved photographing. In the year 2015, I completed my photography education in order to improve my abilities. Following my education, I decided to become a stock photographer and I’ve been selling photographs all over the world ever since.
You can find more about me and my work on my website.
