On July 21, 1989, Mike Tyson faced off against Carl Williams for the WBA, WBC, IBF, and Lineal heavyweight championships of the world at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Mike entered the fight with an undefeated 36-0 record and from the onset showed no doubt in continuing his perfect streak. A little over a minute into the first round, Tyson connected with a left hook that sent Williams straight down to the canvas. Williams staggered and struggled to get back to his feet before referee Randy Neumann stopped the fight after only 93 seconds, giving Mike the TKO victory. After dismantling Williams, Tyson celebrated with his camp and even flashed the $100,000 bonus he received for knocking out Williams in the first round.
