The Pixels of The Opera // 掛帥 京劇旦角

京劇《穆桂英掛帥》講述了 北宋時期 退隱多年的 一代傳奇女將 穆桂英 恰逢 西夏進犯中原，宋王（宋仁宗）決定通過校場比武挑選元帥領兵抵抗，楊家小將 楊文廣 在校場刀劈王倫奪得帥印歸來。其母 穆桂英 深感朝廷刻薄寡恩，想起宋朝廷曾迫害忠良，宋王亦寵信奸臣，不願出征再為其效力，同為楊門女將的佘太君當即表示「你不掛帥我掛帥」要代替穆桂英上任，穆桂英受到觸動，恰巧此時窗外戰鼓擂聲震天，穆桂英想起當年兩軍陣前殺敵陷陣的崢嶸歲月，最終在 佘太君 的感召下，愉快地決定及答應慷慨誓師出征。此劇歌頌了 楊家將 世代忠良保家衞國的英雄事蹟以及 楊家將「一門忠良、為國分憂」的愛國主義情懷。

Chinese Opera was inscribed onto the UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of Humanity, and together with the Indian Sanskrit Opera and the Greek tragic-comedy, they form the trinity of the oldest dramatic arts in the world. As such, "Chinese Opera" is an umbrella term and covers a diversity of schools within, each of the schools of Chinese Opera draws its roots from a particular time and space. Through a medium of dance, music and drama, this theatrical art form hereby reflects the life and times of human beings.
