The Pixels of The Opera // 出塞 京劇旦角

京劇《昭君出塞》講述的是 漢元帝 將宮女 王昭君 遠嫁於 匈奴 的故事。漢元帝時，王昭君 備絕世之姿，性情耿直，不善於巴結權貴，因不肯賄賂 畫家 毛延壽，致 昭君之像 被描繪成極為醜陋，一直沒有引起皇帝的重視，最後把她作為禮物送給了 匈奴 單于，臨別時，出於漢匈交好的禮節，漢元帝 參加了送別儀式，召見 王昭君 的那一刻，漢元帝 才第一次見到了 王昭君 的真面目，令 漢元帝 大為驚愕，沒想到後宮裏還有如此驚艷的絕世佳人，但事已至此，已挽回乏術矣，只能忍痛割愛，極不情願地送走了 王昭君。事後，漢元帝非常惱怒，對所有負責給宮女畫像的畫家一一進行了審訊，真相大白後，一連殺掉了包括 毛延壽 在內的十幾名畫家。《昭君出塞》劇中情節描寫絕世美人 王昭君 被出嫁時的情形，淒涼悲憤，感慨甚深。

Chinese Opera was inscribed onto the UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of Humanity, and together with the Indian Sanskrit Opera and the Greek tragic-comedy, they form the trinity of the oldest dramatic arts in the world. As such, "Chinese Opera" is an umbrella term and covers a diversity of schools within, each of the schools of Chinese Opera draws its roots from a particular time and space. Through a medium of dance, music and drama, this theatrical art form hereby reflects the life and times of human beings.
