I have two Tibetan Mandalas in my home. One was painted by an abbot with whom I stayed during a 1998 trek in Nepal, and the other came from a Mandala painter in Tibet. Mandalas have various meanings, but in general, they represent the whole of life and a balance of body and mind infused with clarity. I named this piece My Mandala because of the contrasting colors and square structure infused with a circuitous black line with no beginning or end, creating defined borders. The three-pixel wide continuous black line has no start or end. Filling in the designated space inside the black line, I used lime to provide brightness and a distinct contrast to the purple. Purple is my favorite color and was used for the border to exude a spiritual presence. The Single Line Art logo is in the center of the piece.

Single Line Square Circle Collection collection image

Each piece of art in this collection begins with a single contiguous, strictly three-pixel-wide black line that begins and ends in the same place, making it a very circuitous circle. The line makes only right-angle turns and is separated from itself by a three-pixel-wide space that is colored on either side by a color. Therefore, although the black line is the most used color, it may not be the predominant color when viewed. The line is drawn by calculating the outcome of completing a square without intersection, feeling, and thought.
