Prey & Predator #05 Artist : Arun Soman

The Asilidae are the robber fly family, also called assassin flies. They are powerfully built, bristly flies with a short, stout proboscis enclosing the sharp, sucking hypopharynx. The name "robber flies" reflects their notoriously aggressive predatory habits; they feed mainly or exclusively on other insects and, as a rule, they wait in ambush and catch their prey in flight.

This image was captured using NIKON Z6 camera with a normal 50mm f1.8 prime lens with the help of a extenstion tube. Extension tube give us the capability to close focus our subject. here the focusing distance is around 3 cm only. Actually this mesmerizing image was capture without a proper macro lens. Also this is a single shot image not a stacked one.

LILLYPUT WORLD OF MACRO collection image

Hi everyone. I am a passionate photographer from Kerala India. Love to take Macro and street photography. I am using a normal lens with macro extension tube to take macros, not a proper autofocus macro lens. Its very hard to achieve focus on the eye of the subject while doing macro. We need to move our camera setup to and fro to get the focus with out a single breath. If we breath our hand will shake and focus will go somewhere else. But the results are amazing. These extension tube macro set up is more sharper than a proper macro lens image. I am sure that my collection wont disappoint you.
